POST RACE REPORT FROM HIGH POINT ATVA GNC
Casey Martin and Carrie Auchter Results
Going into the Mount Morris, PA round we were
excited that Casey Martin finally had a motor to
race. Toby from Moto-Xperts got us the motor
back quick after parts arrived from Honda and it
was broke in on Thursday evening into Friday
morning then raced on Saturday. As always we ran
with Klotz race fuel for consistent power. Casey
was also running a JB Racing front end and
swingarm with linkage for the first time during
this event. After some fine tuning and practice
he was comfortable enough to run motos. We will
finish tuning over the next few weeks.
ProAm Unlimited - 37
Riders
Casey come out of the gate solid around mid
pack. In turn one all but three guys were
bunched up in a mess. Casey ended up coming out
in 10th but picked off two more guys to finish
with an 8th. During the LCQ has pulled a solid
2nd place start and held it till the finish. In
Moto2 there was a wreck in turn two that pushed
Casey back pretty far.
Then on the back rhythm stretch he got into a
tussle with another rider and ended up off the
track. He got back into the race and finished
the race with a severely bent tie- rod this
landed him a 12th place spot. His finish class
position was 11th. After two motor related DNFs
Casey is back in the hunt and sitting in 18th
with points.
ProAm Production - 38
Riders
Moto1 of the Production class made the
weekend worthwhile. Casey was getting used to
the new bike and it proved it had enough power
to be a contender. Casey jumped out of the gate
and was in a two wide split for 2nd on the
holeshot. He held the inside on a downhill
sweeper and had to brake a little more and took
the third place spot. He held 3rd for five of
the eight laps and faded. Lack of seat time due
to no bike took its toll during the extended
Production class and two minute laps. This
pushed him into the LCQ where a wreck in turn
two would cost him three spots not making it
possible to qualify for the main. With three
previous DNFs Casey is sitting in 26th with
points.
Overall we are very happy with the weekend!
Casey made a solid showing, his bike is finally
coming together and his spirit is strong. The
new motor runs good and we are now preparing to
show a solid season.
Carrie Auchter is still having some back
issues and sat this round out to complete a full
recovery.
