Mitch Reynolds Racing Update - ATVA High Point

The 6th round of the ITP Tires Moose Racing
AMA/ATVA National Motocross Championship
presented by Parts Unlimited was held this
Memorial Day Weekend at High Point Raceway.
Sunny skies and warm weather were welcomed in
for a change of pace in the 2008 season. "We
came into this event very focused on what we had
to do, we have not had a good season up to this
point and really needed some good results" Mitch
Reynolds stated as he looked forward to turning
around his luck so far this season.
When Saturday rolled around, Mitch was
focused and ready to turn his season around.
When the gate dropped, he charged the uphill
start and would edge out the other riders to
claim the holeshot and take command of the lead.
He would hold the lead and go onto take a moto
one win. After the moto he stated, "we did some
testing leading up to this race and really got
the JB Racing, Baldwin, PEP, Sunrise Honda
dialed in." Dialed in may have been an
understatement, as he would pull strong on the
holeshot and cross the finish line in third. His
1-3 moto finishes would net him an overall win.
Carrying his momentum, Mitch would take on a
heavily talented Pro-Am Production class in Moto
#1. A third place finish would set him up with a
good gate pick in the final moto. Against 20 of
the next generation of Pro Riders, he would have
to push hard to overcome a less than favorable
start. Climbing all the way to second place, his
moto finishes pushed him into second place
overall on the day. After the race Mitch chatted
about his moto, "I got a good start but I
drifted wide in turn one and let several riders
past heading for turn two. It took me some time
to get those positions back and by that time the
leader had checked out on us". Proving he has
been hard at work on conditioning, Mitch ran
faster lap times on the last three laps than the
leader. "I am really happy with my results this
weekend, not just for myself but for my sponsors
as well. I could not be where I'm at today
without all of their help and support"
