Mitch Reynolds Racing Update - ATVA EDT -
Tri-City
Greenbriar, AR
-- Round #5 of the Atva Extreme Dirt Track
Nationals got underway this past weekend at Tri
City Speedway in Pennsylvania. As with every
round so far this year rain played a big part in
the weekend. Thursday evening practice was
cancelled due to heavy rains pushing practice,
qualifying and racing to Friday. The Herrick
crew did a spectacular job prepping the track
for the rain and with a little work in the
morning the track was ready for racing and held
up great all day.Mitch came into the weekend eager to get
back on his quad and put the last last few weeks
behind him. After the Unadilla round of the MX
nationals Mitch was injured in a practice crash
leaving him unable to mount a serious charge at
round #4 of the EDT series "it was extremely
frustrating not to be able to race at Danville,
that was one of the most humbling experiences of
my life. Just rolling the track for points is
something i never want to do again" Reynolds
said.
Two weeks prior to this event Mitch
re-injured his hip and shoulder at the Muddy
Creek MX national and spent very little time on
his quad leading up to Fridays race.
As
darkness fell over the Tri Cities Speedway the
Pro's hit the track for some of the closest
racing this year. Mitch would finish 3rd in his
Pro heat and 1st in the Pro Am Lites heat race
"the track was fast and i was a bit rusty, i
haven't been able to ride much lately because of
some injuries but i really liked the track
layout. I also think it was great that Tim and
Daryl came out to race with us and Sage Baker
also ran his first TT this weekend"
When it came time for the mains the
air was thick with anticipation. The top pro's
were all running comparable times and the track
was now perfect for racing. Mitch was struggling
with his starts but felt good about the rest of
the track and finished with 3rd in both the Pro
class and Pro-Am Lites. "I'm happy with my
results, it's been a tough year but i think it's
coming around"
