DELMONT, Pa. (August 25, 2008) -- A $10,000
purse, with $5,000 to win, has been posted for
this Saturday's Second Annual ATV Open. The
invitational event is scheduled for this
Saturday, Aug. 30, at Steel City Raceway.
In a move fitting of America's "Super Bowl"
of Motocross Racing, the AMA will award a
special No. 1 plate to the ATV Open winner.
"In just one year, this race has grown into
Professional ATV Racing's premier annual
Championship event," said AMA ATV Race Series
Manager Harv Whipple. "The event's invitational
format is truly unique, allowing the factories
to choose their riders, which enables us to pit
the best of the best in ATV racing against each
other on Steel City's tough and exciting track.
"This event is all about prestige," added
Whipple. "Though teams compete all season to win
the coveted 11-race ATV Motocross Championship,
winning the ATV Open is always front and center
in their minds...and winning it equals bragging
rights."
