Kawasaki’s 2009 GNCC
Contingency Program Reaches New Heights

Kawasaki 2009 Contingency Card |
Irvine, Calif. – Kawasaki will offer its
highest contingency posting in history for the
AMA Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC)
in 2009 with $595,000 up for grabs, more than
$200,000 higher than in 2008. With the all-new
KX™250F and the fuel-injected KX™450F, there has
never been a better time to be on a green
machine.
The payout scale for the XC1 or
XC2 classes is superior to any other
manufacturer in the pits. Kawasaki awards the
XC1 class race winner an incredible $10,000,
followed by $5,000 for second, and $2,500 for
third. The XC2 winner earns $2,500, second takes
home $1,500, and $750 for third. Not only are
the payouts higher, they are deeper with the
top-10 in both classes taking home a portion of
the reward.
"We wanted to show our
commitment to off-road racing and the consumers
that race our product week in and week out in
the GNCC series,” said Kawasaki Off-Road
Supervisor Jason Smigel. “The pay out for the
premier classes is the best available and with
the new product to back it up, it’s a perfect
time to be on a Kawasaki.”
In June,
Kawasaki introduced its all-new line up of KX
machines. The 2009 KX250F is sleeker and lighter
than ever before, while the 2009 KX450F is now
EFI equipped, giving it single-kickstart
capability that is perfect for GNCC competition.
“Kawasaki is really proud of its new product
and truly feels the new KX line-up is the best
product for cross-country racing,” said Smigel.
“With such a good product, we wanted to back it
up with the best contingency program available.”
Kawasaki also continues its commitment to
up-and-coming racers with payouts in the amateur
classes, starting in the 65cc program.
To
