Yasky ATV $10,000 MUD MONEY™ Contingency Program
presented by
SIMMS MotorSports Marketing for 2008
The Yasky ATV $10,000 MUD MONEY Contingency
Program presented by SIMMS MotorSports took
place this past weekend, October 9th -
12th during Gap Broadcasting's Mud Stock held in
Jacksonville Texas. This contingency program
was designed to handsomely reward any racer who
was able to win both the Class 2 SwampCross race
on Friday night and the Class 3 Mud Bog race on
Saturday morning. All Championship Mud Racing is
single elimination, meaning to advance to the
next round of racing you must win.
Forty eight competitors took to the SwampCross race
course in Class 2 in hopes of having a shot at
winning the $10,000. After 25 rounds of racing
including heats, semis and the final, one name
rose to the top, Trey Thornton of I-45 Racing on
his Can-Am Outlander.
After all that racing Trey had to prep the
Can-Am for the next day's racing. Even though he
and his team had been up until 1:00am, he
was ready and waiting for the 8:00am riders
meeting. For Saturday's Mod Bog Trey was facing
more than 50 competitors to reach his $10,000
MUD MONEY pay day. During round one Trey won his
heat easily, he got the hole shot and never
looked back. During round two his line was
pinched off leaving the MUD MONEY contender no
where to go and he finished third out of five
competeing in that semi, ending his day of
racing and his shot at the Yasky ATV $10,000 MUD
MONEY, at least until next year.
While Trey wasn't able to win the Yasky ATV
$10,000 MUD MONEY presented by SIMMS MotorSports
we are thrilled to announced he is the CMR 2008
Class 2 SwampCross Points Champion.
Congratulations to Trey and the entire I-45
Racing team for an outstanding season.
The 2008 Championship Mud Racing "CMR"
schedule included seven competition dates
spanning from May through October with points
awarded throughout the season in several
different competition classes for ATV and SxS
Mud Racing. Competitions included Mud Bog
and SwampCross.
Competition aspects of The CMR were overseen
by a team led by Jason Coffel, who organized
national-level ATV competitions for several
years and participated in the growth of the
sport, both as an event promoter, organizer, and
announcer.
The ultimate goal of The CMR is to see the
growth of ATV Mud Racing as a competitive sport
and give competitors a pedestal upon which they
can receive the recognition from national media
and industry sponsors that they have long
deserved. The CMR will also be discussing
opportunities for more national media exposure
including recent opportunities with national
television networks.
