Lynden, WA (April 6, 2009) - Round
three of the World Off-Road Championship
Series (WORCS) once again saw
Holz racers at the front of the pack
despite increased competition and a
rock-laden course, which took its toll on
competitors throughout the weekend.
In Pro ATV it was Jeremie
Warina on his Holz equipped Motoworks
Can-Am who quickly took over the lead
position by the second lap and checked out. Fellow Holz equipped Motoworks
rider and defending champ Josh Frederick
worked his way up from 15th to a 2nd
place finish only 4.5-seconds behind the
leader.
Further back, Mike
Machado gave Holz another quad in the
top-ten with a sixth place finish putting
3 Holz riders in the top ten for the Pro
ATV class.
In the Pro-Am ATV class, the domination
of Dillon Zimmerman and his Holz Racing
Products equipped Motoworks Can-Am continued
as he took the win with an incredible 2-minute,
30-second margin of victory at the checkered.
In the UTV side-x-side national
class (UTV1), Mark Holz in his Holz prepped
Kroyer
Racing Polaris RZR tailed the leader until an
errant rock spelled a broken wheel and torn
brake
line, forcing an unscheduled pit stop resulting
in
a 5-minute delay before Holz was able to return
to action. However, Holz was able to work his
way
back through the pack for a respectable 5th
place
finish only 3.5-minutes behind the leader.
Despite the set-back, Holz still
leads the year-end point chase in the UTV 1
class
with a slim 4-point edge over Steve Irvine. Josh
Frederick holds a comfortable 19-point margin
over Warina in Pro ATV; while Zimmerman with his
season to date sweep touts a 15-point lead in
the
Pro-Am ATV standings.
