GNCC Round #5 –
Acerbis Loretta Lynn's
Acerbis Loretta Lynn’s – Hurricane Mills, TN
- Coming off a rough race in South Carolina I
was eager to get things under way at Loretta
Lynn’s. This track can be very challenging but
heading to the line I was confident in myself
and my machine. I got a great jump off the line
which put me in position to get the holeshot.
But, I got tangled with another rider in the
first corner allowing most of our class to go
around. It was not the best way to start the day
but I put it out of my mind and started charging
towards the front of the pack.
At the end of lap one I was in eleventh place
and feeling really well. On lap number 2 I had a
run in with yet another rider in my class
sending me to the back of the pack for the
second time. At the end of the lap I was really
fortunate to have worked my way back into the
top 10! During lap three I pushed hard with
hopes of catching the leaders.
I pushed hard the final remaining lap hoping
to get sight of the leaders again and make a
charge for a top three but when the checkered
flew I placed fifth. All in all this was a day
of battling to get to the front. My Yamaha
worked great and I happy with my ability on the
track. I wish the day could have ended a little
better but that is cross country racing. I am
going to head back to Florida to continue my
training regimen and attend local events. With
five rounds of GNCC racing under my belt I am
second in the points standings and a mere 8
points out of the first place position.
As always, a huge thank you goes out to my
great group of sponsors who stand behind me and
have had a hand in this event. Yamaha, Houser,
