Yoshimura Racers
Conquer Unadilla

Josh Creamer was determined to win the
second moto after a third-place finish
in the first moto.

Dustin Wimmer didn't end the first moto
quite the way he wanted to, but he
persevered and took second in moto 2.

Thomas Brown took his Yoshimura-powered
Yamaha to an 8th-place finish overall. |
Chino, Calif. – July 19, 2010 – Yoshimura ATV
racers enjoyed another successful weekend of
racing at Round 9 of the AMA ATV Motocross
Championship, held in New Berlin, NY, at the
famed Unadilla Valley Sports Center. Yoshimura’s
Josh Creamer and Dustin Wimmer continued their
string of successful races, with Creamer taking
his sixth win of the season and Wimmer
continuing his streak of podium finishes and
placing second overall. Yoshimura-sponsored
Thomas Brown and Patrick Brown also put in
consistent finishes and powered their way to
top-10 finishes.
“I just want to keep this momentum going until
the end of the season,” Creamer said. “The
Yoshimura motor was really good today and I’m
happy with how this season has gone for us so
far!”
Wimmer and his Yoshimura-tuned QuadRacer R450
secured the fastest time in qualifying, and in
the first moto, got an excellent start, with
Creamer just a few positions back. By the end of
the race, Wimmer was able to hold on to second
place while Creamer put in a strong ride to take
the final podium spot. Yamaha rider Thomas Brown
finished the race just one spot outside of the
top five, while Honda-mounted Patrick Brown
secured a top-10 finish with ninth. Cody Grant,
the rookie in the pro class, just missed the
top-10 with an 11th-place finish.
The second moto saw the Rockstar Makita Suzuki
riders out front again, this time with Creamer
getting the better start of the two. Creamer
began a race-long battle for the lead, while
Wimmer pushed hard in a battle for fourth. As
the race wore on, however, Creamer made his way
into the lead and took the win, while Wimmer was
able to hold on to fourth place. Thomas Brown
was unable to match his first moto score,
finishing seventh, while Pat Brown improved on
his first moto outing, taking eighth place. Cody
Grant took rounded out the top-10.
“My Yosh motor worked really well today,” Wimmer
said after the race. “I got two good holeshots
and had power everywhere. It was pretty hard to
pass and the track was rough, but overall, the
race went well.”
Overall, Creamer was awarded the overall victory
with his 3-1 moto scores. Wimmer's 2-4 finishes
gave him second overall, making it two
Yoshimura-backed bikes on the top two steps of
the podium. Thomas Brown earned eighth overall
with his 6-7 result on the day, Pat Brown's 9-8
finishes left him in ninth overall, and Cody
Grant went 11-10 for 10th overall.
"It was a great race," said Yoshimura R&D of
America’s Marketing Manager Kory Ellis, who
overseas the team. "Josh and Dustin both got on
the podium and with two races left in the
season, hopefully we will have the championship
wrapped up by the next round!"
Round ten of the series takes place on July 31
through August 1 at the Red Bud MX track in
Buchanan, Michigan. Josh Creamer looks to close
in on his first AMA ATV Motocross Championship,
while the rest of the Yoshimura-sponsored riders
hope to keep their quads up front.
