Their XR650-motored, FLUIDYNE® Powersports radiator-equipped hybrid race quad already had more than 1500 hard race miles under its valve cover, but ran flawlessly for the 10 hours and 26 minutes that it took to reach the V-to-R finish line.

Soon after Stuart started the 534-mile race at 6:00 am, he began passing bikes and quads, building a class lead that was never relinquished as he and Granlund swapped riding duties throughout the day. In the end, just seven motorcycles were ahead of them. The team averaged more than 51 mph and crossing the finish line 35 minutes ahead the second-place Pro Quad entry. Stuart and Grunland, the defending Best in the Desert series champions, currently lead the 2010 points race with two races remaining.

"We felt confident starting the race knowing our quad had a Fluidyne radiator handling the cooling duties," said Granlund. "As the air temperature climbed above 100 degrees, the motor ran strong for the entire 534 miles."
