La Paz , BCS, Mexico - After a 25 hour run
from Ensenada to La Paz that was plagued with
problems and adversity, Team Moto X Nutrition
Pro Caliber came away with the overall ATV
victory in the 43rd running of the Baja 1000!
The team battled a blown rear shock, losing 1st
gear, and crashing off half of their race lights
to beat all of Class 24 and most of Class 25.
Even a flawless run down the nearly 1100 mile
peninsula course is quite a feat in itself, and
the team managed to do it in less than 25 hours!
The MXN team was able to overcome their issues
and ride hard for the win.
The point to point 1000 has a history of
challenging racers to really dig down and find
out of what they are made. It is well known by
any accomplished Baja racer that it is nearly
impossible to make it through this race
unscathed and it's how you, your team, and your
crew react to the challenges that will get you
to the finish line. It’s their combined effort
and intense and thorough preparations that get
you to the finish first. After leaving last
year's 1000 in 2nd place, the team charged ahead
this year hungry for the win and dominated all
season long.
Rider of record and Team Manager Brandon
Brown explained, "I've been trying to instill
the mindset into everyone involved with our team
to just make good decisions. You’re going
to have problems if you come down here and play.
The decisions you make in the midst of
adversity will make you or break you. Our
team made good decisions and as a result of it
we won the Baja 1000!"
With this victory, Team Moto X Nutrition Pro
Caliber has won the Tecate Score 2010 Class 24
Championship as well as the series overall ATV
Championship for the season! They were presented
with their awards Saturday after the race.
"Jeremy and I are extremely proud of the job
our MotoXNutrition/Pro Caliber team did this
year. We punish these guys at our new UHA
(Universal Human Athletics) training facility
all year leading up to this race, and team
leader Brandon Brown would push the team for
more. Brandon and I already discussed raising
the bar again to prove and ensure our continued
success next year," says fitness trainer,
nutrition expert, and title sponsor Christian
Chambers.
Congratulations to the team: Brandon Brown,
Mike Bender, Kenny Sanford, Jorie Williams,
Michael Kelley, and Nick Nelson! The team would
