AMA/ATVA ATV Motocross National Championship Series

Attention All AMA Pro ATV Motocross Riders and Season Credential Holders

Morgantown, W.Va. (January 17, 2011) --MX Sports Pro Racing announces that there will be no technical revisions to the 2011 AMA Pro ATV Motocross Rules. The 2011 Pro Rules and crew credential applications will be announced shortly, pending final formatting by AMA Pro Racing.

In the meantime, the most noteworthy change will be the shift of the Pro Class from Sunday to Saturday racing. The purpose of the schedule change is to attract more fans to a Saturday program, similar to the success experienced by moving the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship schedule to Saturday racing.

Pro Am Unlimited and Women classes will continue with a Saturday-only program, with Pro Am Production continuing with a Sunday-only program. Another change of note is that Pro riders will be permitted to participate in the Sunday Pro Am Production program if they so choose. New for 2011, an AMA Pro ATVMX license holder that is not a current or past champion and is not currently in the top 10 in points in the Pro division, is now eligible to compete in the Pro Am Production classification on Sunday.

The 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Championship will kick off February 26-27 at Aonia Pass MX in Washington, Ga., with Pro class racing starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, supported by 37 amateur classes throughout Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please visit
