ATV Pro Motocross
National set for Pell City March 19
Pell City, Alabama (March 17, 2011) -- The
fastest four-wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
racers in America will make their return to the
nationally recognized Mill Creek Raceway for
Round 2 of the 2011 AMA ATV Motocross
Championship Presented by DWT.
The Mill Creek race will feature the top
professional ATV riders in the country competing
on a closed course featuring jumps, bumps and
corners. Riders will compete on custom-built
450cc machines from top manufacturers such as
Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Polaris, Suzuki
and Yamaha. Riders stand to rake in six-figure
incomes from the large purse and contingency
bonuses, all while competing for the most
coveted honor in ATV racing: The AMA Pro
Motocross Championship.
Pro riders will practice and race on Saturday.
Fans are invited to come early each day to tour
the open pro pits and attend free autograph
sessions, while also checking out the best
amateur riders in the nation, who will be racing
all weekend.
The event takes place at Mill Creek raceway,
located just a short distance from Birmingham.
The track is surrounded by hardwoods, pine,
creeks and rolling hills. Over the years, Mill
Creek has matured and become a nationally
recognized facility, with wide lanes, flowing
natural jumps and enormous elevation changes.
The track features a mix of fast and slow
technical sections into its nearly two-mile
layout.
The pro class will race in two 20-minute races
on Saturday, with the best combined scores of
both races determining the overall winner. The
fastest ATV PRO riders in the world will all be
here for this annual event.
Can-Am factory Chad Wienen dominated the opening
round in Georgia and will be looking to get back
at the top of the podium. Veteran rider and past
champion, Joe Byrd comes into the event looking
for a spot on the podium after his 5th place
finish at the season opener.
The weekend also includes a full slate of
amateur racing, including classes for riders as
young as six-years-old, and veteran divisions
for riders over the age of 50. Practice,
qualifying and racing will take place on
Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend tickets cost $30 for adults and $20 for
children age 6-11. There is a Saturday One Day
Ticket available for spectators and $5.00
discount coupons are available at all Can-Am

I-20 East to Exit # 156; turn South, take 1st
road on the right which is Roberts Mill Rd.
