Race Results from Round #2 of the Yamaha Quad-X Series at Arizona Cycle Park

  • Dustin Nelson, Beau Baron and Ethan Thatcher took the podium at the second round of the Yamaha Quad-X Series.
  • Dirkie Baard and Jason Fife rounded out the top five.

San Bernardino, Calif. - April 19, 2011 - Dustin Nelson claimed his second victory of the 2011 Yamaha Quad-X series at Arizona Cycle Park in Buckeye, AZ, leading wire-to-wire in both motos for the overall win. Nelson’s back to back victories place him at the top of the points with a total of 50. Beau Baron claimed second overall after 2-2 moto finishes, placing him just six points behind Nelson in the standings. Ethan Thatcher took to the podium as well with a third place overall finish.

Nelson started the day’s racing off with a holeshot in the first moto, and quickly turned that into a commanding lead he held for the rest of the race. Beau Baron battled with Thatcher for much of the first moto, but managed to pull away for a second place finish.

The second moto saw another Nelson holeshot, and though Baron remained within striking distance throughout the entire race, Nelson managed to hold on to the lead for another first place finish.  Baron settled for second in both motos and sits in second place in the point standings with 44.

Ethan Thatcher took third overall for the day, after finishing third in the first moto and fourth in the second moto. This was the second third-place finish in a row for Thatcher, and puts him in third place in the points at 40.

While Round #1 at Glen Helen was wet, muddy and slippery, Round #2 at Arizona Cycle Park was quite the opposite. Temperatures up in the 90's and a dry, dusty track made for some rough and hot racing. Round #3 takes the Quad-X Series to Cahuilla Creek in Anza, California on May 8th. For more information on the Yamaha Quad-X Series visit
