Twin Air Powerline Park GNCC Race Report

(10/10/2011) – The GNCC series visited St. Clairsville, OH for the Powerline Park GNCC this past weekend. Chris Borich would take home the XC-1 Pro Class victory along with the overall for the day.

The race would be another hard fought victory for the Twin Air sponsored Borich. He battled throughout the day with the Twin Air equipped Can Am duo of Adam McGill and Chris Bithell. Once he solidified his second place position he charged forward catching the leader on the final lap. He would make the pass exiting a creek crossing and narrowly take the win. The win marked victory number seven for the year for Borich. He was also able to extend his points lead to 36 with only two rounds remaining in the series.

Twin Air’s McGill would bring home third and sits solidly in the second spot in the points chase. Teammate Chris Bithell would not be so lucky. He fell back to ninth on the day but still holds the number three spot in the points. These Twin Air riders will look to hold the top three positions for the remainder of the season.

In XC-2 action Twin Air’s Eric Hoyland finished a strong fourth place just missing the podium. His effort solidified his third place standing in the series point race. With two rounds remaining he looks to finish strong and stand on the podium for the remaining rounds.

The racing in the AM classes provided some more podium finishes for the Twin Air Team. Michael Swift would finish second in the 4x4 Open Class. His finish would allow him to keep his points lead. Cliff Beasley would finish in third place in the U2 class. He had previously wrapped up the title in the U2 class. Everyone’s favorite 4x4 Super Senior racer Mike Penland would have another great race and finish the day in second. He continues to hold down the second overall for the year.

Twin Air would like to congratulate all of our riders for another great weekend of racing. With two rounds left, there is sure to be some more great racing action.
