GNCC Pro ATV Race Report
Masontown, West Virginia, May 26, 2012 -
National Guard / Coastal / Bowers Motorcycle
Supplies / Yokley Racing Team rider Jarrod
McClure finished 6th Overall and 6th in the XC1
Pro Class. There were 186 total entries
including 16 XC1 Pro racers.
The Mountaineer Run is the third new venue
this year for the GNCC Series. The track
was technical featuring lots of rocks, tight
woods, hills and mud holes. The weather
was hot and muggy with temps in the 90’s.
Jarrod got a good start at the drop of the
green flag, and headed into the woods in 4th
place. He ran with the lead pack heading
into lap 2. His race was steady and pretty
uneventful, with the ATV working well. A
concern was the heat index and how to deal with
it. Fortunately, Jarrod is in great shape
due to Moto Pro Training, and he had no
On the 4th and final lap, he lost a position
and finished up in 6th place. Overall, it
was a good day for Jarrod and the team.
Jarrod now sits 7th in season points.
The National Guard / Coastal / Bowers
Motorcycle Supplies / Yokley ATV Team will now
prepare for the next GNCC race in Snowshoe, West
Virginia on June 23. The Snowshoe is one
of the toughest GNCCs on the schedule, and a
crowd favorite at the famed Snowshoe Ski Resort.
