STI Gets Up To Speed
With 2012 Quad-X Season
The action has been hot and hotter throughout
the 2012 Yamaha Quad-X Series Presented By STI.
The first seven events have provided an
exceptional level of wheel-to-wheel competition
in a wide variety of classes at ATV motocross
courses in Southern California and Arizona. With
a summer break in the schedule before the final
three-race push to the championship finale, we
thought this would be a good time to get caught
up on the scene.
Keith Taylor nailed
four consecutive holeshots with his STI Tech 4
MX tires at the Glen Helen double-header,
leading to a four-moto sweep. The Tech 4 has
made a big leap in performance in 2012 with a
newly formulated tread compound.
Multi-time and defending
champion Dustin Nelson (94) has his hands full
this year with young gun David Haagsma (422).
As the presenting
sponsor, STI Tire & Wheel has been a fixture at
every event with a display and valuable
trackside support. Our friends at Big Kid Racing
have been doing an awesome job showing off STI’s
ATV and UTV tires and wheels, as well as
supporting competitors already running them.
The primary focus of the line at these
sport quad-focused events is of course STI’s
sport-focused products. That includes Pro-Lite
Alloy and Pro-Lite Beadlock wheels, as well as
Tech 4 MX tires. These tires have become even
more effective this racing season due to a major
improvement in the tread compound for 2012. This
has made a good racing tire great, and it’s
still an even greater value than anything on the
To prove it, STI will have
a few pair of Tech 4 MX “demo” tires mounted and
ready to ride at the remaining three rounds of

Just ask Keith Taylor, who was dominant in
the Open Production Intermediate class during
rounds six and seven at Glen Helen Raceway.
