 For
those off-road enthusiasts seeking a
high-performance ATV, Kawasaki introduces
the Lakota Sport for 2001. Like its
high-performance sibling, the Mojave
ATV, the Lakota Sport uses a race-bred
chassis with chain drive for maximum
power efficiency and light weight. It
also has a new grab bar with a whip
flag mount, so off-road enthusiasts
can be seen more easily
 Powering
the Lakota Sport is a 290cc, air-cooled
four-stroke engine. Mated to a five-speed
plus reverse transmission with a user-friendly
automatic clutch and an efficient chain-drive
for maximum performance, ATV riders
can select the right gear for a variety
of riding conditions.
The Lakota Sport also
features Ackerman-type steering, so
tight turns can be made more easily.
Stopping power is provided by triple
disc brakes and, to soak up the bumps,
it has dual A-arm front suspension and
a swingarm rear suspension.
The Lakota Sport has
a suggested retail price of $4,099.
