2005 SUZUKI
EIGER 4X4 AUTOMATIC & MANUAL
If
tough and durable machinery
is the order of the day, then the 2005 Eiger series
of QuadRunners are Suzuki's special. Named after
the well-known Swiss peak, Suzuki Eigers are
tough machines that set
the standard for ATV performance and value. For
2005, the entire line of Eiger QuadRunners are decked
out with a new bold, aggressive look. They're powered
by a proven 376cc four-stroke engine and get support
from a strong, sturdy frame. Their suspension is
set up to handle any kind of terrain. Introducing
the 2005 Suzuki Eiger, in two hard working versions:
- The LT-A400F Eiger Automatic 4X4, featuring
an automatic CVT transmission with high/low
range and reverse, and a limited-slip front
differential.
- The LT-F400F Eiger 4X4, featuring a five-speed-plus-reverse
manual transmission with high/low range and
automatic clutch and a limited-slip front differential.
Both Eiger models feature a dependable 376cc
single-cylinder, four-stroke, air/oil-cooled SOHC
four-valve engine, with 9.0:1 compression ratio,
a single 32mm Keihin carburetor, a gear-driven balancer
to reduce vibration, and a wet-sump lubrication
system. Power is transmitted through your choice
of a fully automatic transmission with V-belt and
continuously variable gear ratio, or a manual five-speed
with reverse transmission with centrifugal automatic
clutch and two-speed sub-transmission. The automatic
model utilizes an advanced braking mechanism and
two-speed sub-transmission with a reverse gear.
In addition, four-wheel-drive power is transferred
through Suzuki's unique torque-sensing limited-slip
front differential and an easy-to-use handlebar-mounted
2WD/4WD-control lever.
The Eiger frames are created with large-diameter,
thin-walled tubing for maximum strength and minimum
weight. Aggressive bodywork, high-radius fenders,
a rugged styled grill and large front bumper provide
a bold and sporty look. The front suspension uses
an independent double A-arm design with a class-leading
6.7 inches of travel. A dual-shock swingarm rear
suspension offers 6.7 inches of travel and 9.8 inches
of ground clearance. Braking duties are handled
by dual 190mm front disc brakes combined with a
water resistant drum mounted at the rear. Other
features include a start-in-gear system for quick
and easy restarts, spin-on oil filter, standard
brake light, large four-gallon fuel tank with fuel
gauge, large-sized tires and wheels, high-capacity
cargo racks, full floor boards, and a high-strength
skid plate that won't dent or rust and provides
a slick surface that won't catch on rocks or trees.
Named after a mountain, built to take on life's
mountains: The 2005 Suzuki Eiger Series of QuadRunners.
