2005 SUZUKI KINGQUAD 700

The 2005 Suzuki KingQuad 700 is the QuadRunner ATV like no other. Just like when it built the first four-wheeler, Suzuki bestowed upon its newest ATV both functional and sporting features. This new KingQuad 700 is designed to be not only the best all-around sport/utility ATV currently made, but the best QuadRunner ATV Suzuki has ever manufactured.

The KingQuad 700 is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine with a bore-and-stroke of 102mm x 85mm - displacing a class-leading 695cc. The big bore helps this four stroke develop abundant torque, especially in the low- to mid-rpm range. The fuel-air mixture is delivered efficiently via Suzuki's own fuel-injection system, featuring technology tested through years of development in high-performance motorcycles.

Advantages of the KingQuad 700's fuel injection system include reduced fuel consumption overall. Also, there are no choke operations or carburetor settings to consider.

Electronic fuel injection provides better throttle response and smoother engine power than a mechanical carburetor. Finally, the KingQuad 700 has the ultimate power-delivery drivetrain and transmission with three drive modes available: two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and front differential-locked four-wheel drive.

Built around an all-new high-tensile steel frame, the KingQuad's suspension is fully independent. It's designed to maintain the necessary rigidity of a hard-working utility ATV as well as the light weight of an easily manageable recreational four-wheeler. New front and rear brake systems help smoothly slow the KingQuad 700 -- the front end features hydraulic brakes with 200mm discs at each wheel and a 34mm caliper piston housed in a rigid caliper to ensure firm and reliable braking. The KingQuad 700 rides on newly designed, 25-inch, bias-ply Dunlop tires mounted on all-new pressed-aluminum-alloy wheels.

The KingQuad 700 carries on the aggressive sport/utility look found in other members of the Suzuki QuadRunner family, like the Vinson 500 and the QuadSport Z400. With its high-arched fenders, sharp headlights, and Champion Yellow color, the Suzuki KingQuad 700 combines sporty appeal with utility strength.

KingQuad 700 Features Include:

  • The cylinder is pitched forward at a 48-degree angle to keep a low center of gravity.
  • Rubber-mounted engine further reduces vibration via two balancer shafts: one in front of the crankshaft and one behind.
  • Suzuki's proven electronic fuel-injection system calculates injection volume using two three-dimensional fuel maps.
  • One tracks injection volume with intake air pressure and engine rpm. Another follows injection volume with throttle opening and engine rpm. The system also tracks intake air temperature, atmospheric pressure and engine coolant
temperature while tracking through these fuel maps.
  • The EFI's Electronic Control Module (ECM) uses a 16-bit central processing unit to help calculate the fuel-injection volume and ignition timing, and a 64-kilobyte read-only memory to store the three-dimensional fuel maps.
  • For more reliable and consistent starting in cold- and hot-weather conditions, Idle Speed Control (ISC) system works with the ECM to precisely mix the fuel and air.
  • Engine braking force is controlled by the Idle Speed Control (ISC) system, which closes the throttle valve further than when the engine is at idle, reducing the amount of fuel/air mixture entering the cylinder and, in turn, increasing engine braking force.
  • Anchor-shaped crank web helps optimize crank inertia, which contributes to low-end power and quick throttle response and acceleration.
  • A Suzuki Plasma Spray Coating (SPSC) lines the cylinder to reduce overall weight and improve resistance to heat and power-robbing friction.
  • A lightweight and rigid aluminum-alloy piston is equipped with an L-shaped top compression piston ring -- like that found on the QuadSport Z400 high-performance sport ATV -- to ensure ring sealing and high rpm performance.
  • Engine temperature is controlled by a large-capacity aluminum radiator with a 211mmdiameter cooling fan, which is controlled by an automatic thermostat switch.
  • Torque-sensing front differential for better performance on unequal traction surfaces and relatively light handling effort in tight turns.
  • Differential-lock system can be used whenever maximum traction is needed -- engine power transfer is kept equal regardless of the steering angle, providing maximum 4WD traction but increasing the steering effort slightly.
  • Push-button electric start fires up the engine easily -- it starts in gear with either the foot or hand brake engaged.
  • A low-maintenance 18-amp-hour battery gives consistent electrical juice for starting, even in cold weather. A backup recoil starter is standard.
  • A 4.6-gallon fuel tank is mounted below the seat, providing a low center of gravity and easy handling. Fuel level is monitored at the digital instrument panel.
  • Suzuki QuadMatic transmission is a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which uses a durable V-belt and centrifugal clutch for fully automatic operation. The belt rides in two variable-pitch pulleys to deliver the right engine power through changing power needs and ground conditions.
  • An advanced engine-braking system helps this automatic transmission control speed, minimizing freewheeling during downhill runs and when pulling a load.
  • A drive range selector is mounted within easy reach on the left side fender for choosing high, low, neutral or reverse gears. This gate-style shifter makes gear selection simple and sure.
  • Front suspension rides on independent double wishbone arms controlled by independent shock absorbers with five-way spring preload adjustments and 7.1 inches of travel.
  • Fully independent rear suspension uses I-beam and wishbone arms and five-way preload adjustable shock absorbers with 7.9 inches of travel.
  • To control body roll during more aggressive cornering, the rear end is equipped with a low-mounted stabilizer bar connecting the right- and left-side lower suspension arms.
  • The front and rear half shafts are protected from rocks, sticks and other debris by lightweight and durable plastic guards, while a high-strength plastic skid plate is installed along the full length of the chassis, adding further protection.
  • Newly designed, 25-inch, bias-ply Dunlop tires employ a unique tread pattern that allows easy maneuverability and outstanding traction in a wide variety of conditions.
  • All-new lightweight pressed-aluminum-alloy wheels feature a durable inner-rolled rim that helps protect the tires' beads from rocks and sticks.
  • A digital liquid-crystal display (LCD) instrument panel includes a speedometer -- with selectable miles or kilometers measurements -- and an odometer, plus two trip meters, an hour meter, a clock, and a fuel gauge. The screen also displays drive-range position - - H, L, N, R -- and drive mode -- 4WD, Diff-Lock 4WD.
  • Dual multi-reflector headlights use 30W halogen bulbs that provide high- and low-beam operation.
  • An auxiliary third headlight uses a 40W halogen bulb and is mounted at the handlebar level so that it turns with the barsfor improved visibility when underway.
  • A compact taillight and brake lamp combination is mounted at the back to provide visibility for trailing riders.
  • A new rare earth magneto generates more electricity and is lighter than a traditional ferrite magneto.
  • A water-resistant 12-volt DC power outlet is positioned on the right-side front fender to power a variety of electrical accessories.
  • Front and rear cargo racks are painted with a rugged wrinkle finish for superior scratch resistance.
  • A center-mounted trailer hitch is standard equipment and the KingQuad 700 has a towing capacity of nearly 1,000 pounds.
  • A handy storage compartment is located on the right front fender and can be easily accessed from the saddle; another water-resistant storage box is below the left-side rear fender.
  • Winch-mounting brackets are located below the front bumper, and wiring conduits are installed -- ample room near the battery provides for securely mounting a winch solenoid.
  • Sturdy floorboards with rugged serrated footpegs are designed to quickly drain free of mud and water in adverse conditions.
