Suzuki took all the award-winning features of
its KingQuad 700 and brought them to the 450
utility/sport
class. And it expands the KingQuad brand to a
broader range of users, and at an unmatched
value.
When the original KingQuad was introduced to the
world in 1991, it was a revolutionary ATV. At a
time
when solid rear axles were commonplace, Suzuki
brought independent rear suspension and a
locking front
differential system to the ATV world. At a time
when a five-speed transmission was the lap of
luxury, the
KingQuad owners got the most innovative
transmission on the market. High, low and
super-low ranges
gave owners 35 drive gear options. It also
delivered utility performance with features
never before seen on
an ATV.
The original KingQuad established Suzuki’s
legacy in the ATV market. Now, the 2007 Suzuki
KingQuad 450
sets the new standard for a whole class of ATVs.
Power is supplied by a single-cylinder engine
with four valves, taking all its cues from its
big brother, the
KingQuad 700. With a bore x stroke of 84mm x
82mm, this 454cc engine offers superb low-end
power for
days spent working hard, and also has the
top-end power for days spent enjoying the trail.
The cylinder is
pitched forward at a 48-degree angle to keep the
low center of gravity for superior trail
performance.
The engine is fed by Suzuki Fuel Injection
technology, using a 35mm throttle body with a
multi-hole injector.
Using two three-dimensional fuel maps, the fuel
injection system tracks all the critical
adjustments to create
useful fuel/air ratio for any riding conditions.
A straight intake tract means that air has no
obstruction getting
from the large capacity airbox to the throttle
body for better throttle response.
Ride quality is suitable for a king, too, thanks
to this ATV’s fully independent front and rear
suspension. In
the front, fully independent and adjustable
double wishbone suspension sets the machine up
to absorb
obstacles on the trail. A generous 7.1 inches of
front wheel travel contributes to easy
maneuverability. And
the new KingQuad 450 features a full 8.1 inches
of rear wheel travel, thanks to the independent
double
wishbone rear suspension setup, which provides
superior absorption of obstacles. A sway bar
connects
the right and left lower arms for added riding
comfort and traction control. Both the front and
rear suspension
have five-way spring preload adjustments,
ensuring maximum tire contact. It’s the same
chassis
proven strong and supportive on the
award-winning Suzuki KingQuad 700.
